- 1 medium size(1-1/4kg)pala fish(aprox:1.5kg)
- 4 medium onion fine slice
- 5-6 potatoes cut leghnth wise
- 10-12 baby onions
- 3 Tbsp coriander powder
- 1 and half Tbsp red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- 10 pcs green cardemom (choti illaichi)
- 1 cup ghee/oil
- 1/2 cup tamarind pulp

- Sprinkle salt at all sides of Palla and put in the fridge for 1 hour and wash.



- Take a pan add ghee/oil,add 4 pcs of cardemom and onion, cook until its colour is pink,strain ghee and. take out in the plate.In this hot ghee sizzle Palla for 2 minutes from both sides.


- Crush pulau zeera and (remaining) 6 cardemoms, and divide into two halves, use one in cooking, mix with dry spices. (salt, coriander powder and red chilli powder) and set a side other half for dum.



- Make three parts of dry spices.mix one part into potatoes and baby onions for curry. One into cooked onions, and third one is sprinkle on Palla. Inner part.



- Assembling :In the same pan and remaining ghee, first add potatoes and baby onions.put any iron grill or make frame from sticks.fill Palla with cooked onion mixedwith dry spices.put at grill, in the center (I made three so I put 1 on side).



- Add temarind pulp and remaining half masalah,pulau zeera and cardemom.Add water about 2 glass in the beginning. Lower than grill.cover and cook at medium to high flame. cook for 1 hour. But check and add water after every15 minutes Until done and curry remains.If there is large size of Palla fish, than increase the duration of time, 1 hour, 30 minutes.


- FOR RICE:, heat 1/4cup ghee/ oil, add 1 small onion slice. Cook till golden, add 1 tsp termuric powder and 5 cups of water and salt to taste. When water start boiling add 4 cups (soaked for 30 minutes) rice. When water dries sprinkle 1/2 tsp pulau zeera and put at dum for 10-15 min:(also serve with chapati).
